Sunday morning Random Ten

Good morning all. It's coffee time here at the West Five Two. I'm enjoying the sunshine that is beaming into my house, and getting happy that the days are becoming longer, slowly but surely. I feel great today, here is the random ten:

1. Good People - Jack Johnson from In Between Dreams. I want to know the answer to this question too, "Where'd all the good people go?" Love this guy!!

2. Sure Shot - Beastie Boys from The Sounds Of Science Disc 1. KICK AZZ!!!!

3. Brotha - Jill Scott from Who Is Jill Scott? Hells yeah, this song keeps me going, fuck all those assholes who are going to try to hold you back in life!!!!! Do your thing, love yourself, and you'll go far in life.

4. Rock And Roll (Shouts Out Back To The Rappers) - G. Love And Special Sauce from Philadelphonic. The title says it all, kudos to the hip-hoppers!!!!!!! A solid groove w/ great lyrics, filled w/ undertones of hip-hop.

5. The Yacht Club - Mark Farina from Mushroom Jazz 5. A melodic, jazzie, electronic groove w/ a killer hip-hop freestlye laid over top. Lots of quotes from older tv sitcoms such as Gilligan's Island dropped in and out of the background too. I believe the guys doing the freestyle are Thes Ones.

6. All About You - 2 Pac from Greatest Hits Disc 2. This track features Nate Dogg and YGD The Top Dawg. East side, West Side, North Side, South Side, your side, my side, it's all about being funky! One race = Human.

7. Play With Fire - The Rolling Stones from Hot Rocks 1964-1971 Disc 1. A little classic rock thrown into the mix. Good times.

8. Dracula's Wedding - Outkast from Love Below. A song for all you single mother's out there that have to deal with dead beat fathers. Men are parasites.

9. Doo Wop (That Thing) - Lauryn Hill from the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Everyone knows this song. I do like L-Boogie, especially w/ the Fugee's.

10. Everybody Wanna Get Funky One More Time (Part 1) - The JB's from Funky Good Time: Anthology Disc 2. This track features James Brown on vocals and we all know James is all about getting funky, struttin', and shakin' that ass. I gotta see this guy live before he kicks it!!!
