Fun @ Work

Just another manic Monday around the job front. Last week I noticed a piece of bagel that someone threw onto the step & have been counting how long it will take the cleaning people to bend over to pick it up and/or sweep it up. Today was day 12....

......and counting

Easter Random 10

I wanted to go shopping today, but since it is some sort of religious holiday everything is closed. Instead I'm going OCD and re-organizing things that don't really need to be re-organized. I am pausing for a RT since I haven't done one in a hot minute. I've added many new artists/tracks to the pod, we'll see if any come up. Enjoy, I know I will...On with the 10:

1. I Wanna Fuck You - Snoop & Akon a stolen track. Nothing like a booty gettin' club song for the start!!!!

2. Shimmy Shimmy Ya - Old Dirty Bastard from 36 Chambers. Taking it back...R.I.P. Mr. ODB.

3. Drance'n - Slagerij Van Kampen from more pirated songs. This group is phenomenal. They are from Holland and it is four drummers and one multi-instrumentalist. You've never heard/seen drumming like this before, just amazing.

4. Make Me Wanna Holler - Me'Shell Ndegeocello from Peace Beyond Passion. Big fan of her lyrics/music. Mellow grooves w/ melodic lyrics & spoken word that give messages and meaning that you might miss if you're not listening.

5. Iesha - Another Bad Creation from waaayyyyy back. Hells yeah this song brings me back to grade school!!! Mad props for these little fellas.

6. Truckin' - Greatful Dead from Best of Skeletons From The Closet. Not a huge Dead fan, but I do enjoy this album. Of course I dig the drum groove on this track. My favorite line, "Living on reds, vitamin C and cocaine." This song/album reminds me of college.....

7. Melting - Tristan Prettyman from more pirated songs. If you have never heard this woman, please check her out. She's great, does a lot of stuff with Jack Johnson & G Love. Acoustic singer/songwriter with simple yet meaningful lyrics.

8. Djembe Solo - Surutu Kunu from African Percussions. The title says it all.

9. Track 5 - Hypnotic Brass Ensemble from some guy at Gypsy that let me burn this disc. This is what you would expect from a brass ensemble, funky/jazzy/R&B-esque with a bad ass drumline.

10. Cold Rock A Party - MC Lyte from some old school shyte. Love this freggin' song. Ruffnecks throw ur hands in the air.

Okay, so two new artists/tracks made the random 10, I'm satisfied with that. Back to my OCD'ness.

Sighting....

I found myself standing on the platform waiting for the train on this cold, yet sunny day, and what to my wandering eyes should appear? Why it was Squatter Ed, toting all of his gear. Three luggage type bags, a violin in case, an electronic device in hand. Looked like he might be moving to the next squatting place.

Peace out,

Bleeeeeezard of '08........

It's March 8th in Cleveland, daylight savings weekend, and there is a blizzard occurring outside my window. I am getting pure enjoyment watching people get stuck at the intersection in front of my house. I have the blind all the way up and am popping some corn for the entertainment. I shouldn't laugh too hard though because I was one of those idiots out earlier. I actually had to go to work. Didn't this same thing happen to me during the blizzard of '07????

Can barely see the Rapid Station from my ride.

A ghost town once I finally made it from the Rapid Station across campus in the near foot of snow.

Me geared up for the journey home, and pissed off that I had to be there. I guess I shouldn't complain too much, I did bust out early.

As the storm continues I'll prob take some pics of the dogs outside. I'll most def be putting up a random ten at some point. I mean, I can't leave the house, I don't have cable, and I've seen all my movies a thousand times. I've got a pot of veggie chili going to keep me warm through the evening.

Return Of The Raj

Day 1 Post-Op:
My girl is high as a kite in this pic. She just had some pain meds and could barely keep her eyes open, but she was happy I was there. I could tell by the slow nub wags she was giving me. Whenever I stopped petting her I'd get a paw to the face too.

Day 2 Post-Op & Home:
Again, high on pain meds, but you can't blame her, she's got about 20 staples in her belly. She assumed her usual position immediately after entering the bitches den. Looks like she'll need some help climbing up to her usual spot on the sofa for the next week or so.
"I'm so happy to be alive & home. Although I was hoping black dog would have disappeared while I was gone....shucks. I know she means well, but we'll have to wait to chill."

I cannot express how happy I am to have more time w/ my big-head. The last few days/nights have been very stressful around the West Five Two. It's so good to have her home w/ us again. I even let her lick all over my face tonight, even w/ that garbage breath of hers!! Welcome home brown dog. You're a trooper.

Hug Ur Pets....

Early this evening Raja started acting funny. She was doing a lot of pacing, not able to lay comfortably for more then 10 minutes, dry heaving, etc. Something told me it was bloat. She climbed up next to me and burrowed her head behind me as she often likes to do, but this time when I tried to touch her belly to see if it was hard, she growled at me. Never in the three years I've had her has she growled at me. So, I raced her out the back door, into my Jeep and off to the 24 hour vet clinic. There she was diagnosed w/ bloat (her stomach flipped) and taken into emergency surgery to correct the problem. While in surgery the vet found some abnormal growths that were biopsied. I won't know the results for at least 5 days. Surgery went well, she was coming out of anesthesia when I saw her. I kissed her head, rubbed her scrunchy face between her eyes and told her I love her. Keep her in you thoughts tonight/tomorrow & hope that she pulls through these next critical hours.
