More Days....

I've lost track of numbers, but the last two days I've been a beach bum. White Plains is the beach closest to my sister's house, so I spent the entire day there on Wednesday. As I was walking up, a monk seal was making it's way to shore.
Here it comes for a day of sun.

Covered in sand & sun while sleeping. This seal was on the beach the entire time I was. I left at 5pm and it was still there.
Yesterday I spent the day on the North Shore on various beaches. This is Waiamea Bay, the shore breaks were huge. This is a really pretty beach.

Behind me is the hole in which I snorkeled for a couple of hours. Some parts were pretty deep so I got to see some big fish. It was a cool little spot, almost totally enclosed by rocks so I didn't have to worry about getting sucked out into the Pacific by the rip tide. Once I got out I realized the area was called "Sharks Cove" oops.
I did a little shopping and eating after snorkeling. Then I hit Sunset Beach for...you guessed it, the sunset. It was a little cloudy so it wasn't perfect, but I won't complain, I'm in Hawaii.

Day 6

I explored the southeast side of the island today. Specifically Hawaii Kai and Kaneohe, where Knotty Dee works. This is the view from her office at the Oceanic Institute of Hawaii Pacific University.

I slipped.... I was amazed at the view from this rock.

LUNCH!!!!! The one on the right is the worlds only "Wolphin." A dolphin and a whale mated at Sea Life Park, something not thought possible, and this was the result.

Day 5....China Town

I set out on a journey to explore China Town early Monday morning. This little park area welcomes you into C-town.
The Fu Lion and me, chillin in the park. Behind me is a homeless man sleeping with one sock on and one sock off. It's all about balance.
The Buddha welcomes us into a tiny little store crammed with shit. Right outside we were accosted by a large man, homeless I'm presuming, that liked to use the word "negro" when referencing himself. We were credited by a white tourist for being "slick" and "handling that very well" as she zoomed past us. The entrance to the open market where you can buy fruits, veggies, trinkets, etc.

Here is the food court which houses many types of Asian cuisine. There was Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, etc.

A local schooled me on how to eat this strange fruit. Apparently you just open it and eat "the meat" out of it, "it's white."

Dragon that was hanging from the ceiling in almost every shop we ventured into.
We stumbled upon this while walking back to the parking garage.
We also stumbled upon this shortly after picking up lunch. From a distance it just looked like a nice park to sit in, little did we know it was the Iolani Palace. The palace was built in 1882 and the last monarchs of Hawaii were overthrown and evicted from the palace in 1893.
I'm on the lookout here....

Our sweet adventure ended with a $24 parking fee. We were swindled by the garage which read "$4 Flat rate before 5pm" it wasn't until you left to pay that they informed you it was $4 per half hours. Shisters.

Day 4...Waikiki

Another early morning, but not quite as early. So off to Waikiki we went. We spotted some celebrities outside of the parking garage...


And here's the infamous Waikiki Beach...

Rainbows are so frequent here that it's unbelievable. I've seen one almost everyday. Awesome.

Locals on the freeway. They saw two Knotty chicks in a Jeep and gave us the international sign for smoking weed, then were kind enough to pose for this shot while traveling at 70mph on the H1.

Jam Night in Kailua!!!!

I had the dance floor packed the second I got behind the kit. I laid down some funky grooves and the band followed. I had quite a fan base, chanting my name when I was finished!!!!

Frollet!!!!!!!! He brought his own pool stick. Serious.

Day 3

Apparently I was still on east coast time because I woke up at 4:52am and could not fall back to sleep. I made my way to the beach to see the sunrise over Honolulu.

There it is, but behind a cloud and we had to go!!!

We set out for a shark tour this date, but to our disappointment it had to be cancelled due to the trade winds. Instead we toured the North Shore finding various hidden beaches. Just beyond this rock is the "Lost" beach, which is private and not accessible to civilians.

I'm running for the Banzai Pipeline but Knotty Dee had to hold me back.

I can say I stood in the water at the Pipeline :-)....

Surfers were everywhere hitting the waves.


Here's yellow board dude. He was awesome, must have been a professional. They were holding a tournament Sun/Mon when the swells were to rise. Perhaps he was practicing.

So far this is my favorite beach on the island. I don't know what it's called but it was so serene.
