An exquisite evening last night on Banks Rd. Kudos to Salexis for navigating through the Winter Storm of 06' and getting us there just in time for the food!!!! I rolled out of bed about an hour ago (11:30am-damn it feels good to just sleep in) and promptly began doing laundry, for I fear it's going to take ALL day. So, while sipping my coffee and surfing the net, here is today's RT enjoy!!!
1. Moog Island - Morcheeba from Who Can You Trust. Great group, great album, great song, and a G-R-8 way to kick off the random ten!!!!!
2. Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf from 16 Greatest Hits. Who doesn't know and love this song?
3. Take Your Mama - Scissor Sisters from self-titled album. This song is freakin' great. This album was burned for me from an acquaintance I once had. I love it, I think they are gay, not that it matters, but it gives a little explanation why a bunch of men would be called the "Scissor Sisters."
4. Lake Charles - Lucinda Williams from Car Wheels. I've never heard this song before in my life. It comes from a collection of music that my friend Jimbo uploaded to my computer about two years ago. I like it though. She's kind of Sheryl Crowish/Joan Osborne-ish, and I think she's coming to the House of Blues soon. I'm guessing it will be a good show based on her voice, lyrics, and music.
5. Nappy Juice - Eddie Bo and the Soul Finders from a mix of soul & funk stuff. Again, I cannot say enough about Eddie Bo. This song is mostly music, lots of funky horns, bass, guitar and of course some dope ass drum grooves.
6. Put It In My Mouth - Akinyele from Put It In My Mouth single. All I can say about this song is that it is pure raunch and I love it!!!!!!!!!
7. We Got You - The Roots featuring Jaguar from The Roots Come Alive. Not a song, but an intro.
8. Sweet Thing - Mary J. Blige from What's The 411? Love me some Mary J, she is kick ass!!! Anyone who doesn't own this album, come see me and I'll burn it for you. It's a classic. Keep doin' your thang Mary!!!!!!!!!
9. We're The Same - Matthew Sweet from 100% Fun. I enjoy this song as well as this album. Kudos to Jimbo for sending it my way.
10. Angel - Shaggy from Hotshot. Love me some Shaggy, even if he is classified as "pop" music. Nothing like a little raggae love song to end the ten!!!!
Well, that's it for the random ten. Now what?
