A sick day random ten inspired by J-Ho who is recovering from the Cleveland plague, along w/ Dr. J, Lego, and Klassy Kate. On w/ the 10.....
1. Dr. Funkenstein - George Clinton & Parliament from a seriously funky mixed cd I created. It was so fun to cover some of his tunes on jam night last week.
2. Don't Look Down - Courtney Cable from Sense of Me. She is sort of a local artist. My friend Jimbo hipped me to her when she was down in Athens. Now I believe she is in the Akron area, I occasionally get emails from her regarding shows down that way. She's very good, acoustic/folky stuff.
3. Small Potion Of Your Love - Sam & Dave from yet another mixed cd of mine.
4. Stay - Maurice Williams from Dirty Dancing Soundtrack. That's right, I have the DD soundtrack on my ipod! This soundtrack has some killer tunes on it, this being one of them.
5. Tolerance - Michael Franti & Spearhead from Yellfire! A peace ballad from a true hippie. Nice. "Draw a picture, share a whisper, anyway you can rise above."
6. Here Comes The Rain Again - The Eurythmics from another mix. I loved this group when I was a kid. I remember watching their videos on MTV back when Annie Lennox had bleach blonde hair w/ a man cut.
7. My Neck, My Back (dirty version) - Khia from ??? I had to download this song to play for my boss. We had a patient who sounded very similar to this woman, it was very funny, but you had to be there.
8. Clint Eastwood - Lost State Of Franklin from Quarter To Lonely. You should all know these guys, a Cleveland great in my opinion. Long live LSOF!!!!
9. 70's Porn Rif - From a mixed funk/jazz cd I made. This is a classic porn groove from back in the day. Makes me laugh every time I hear it.
10. Funky For You - Jill Scott feat. Common & Bilal from Collaborations. I picked this disc up just before Xmas, and have been enjoying it ever since. Love me some Jill and she teams up with some great artists on this album. If you don't have it and u like Jill, then I suggest you get hip to it right away.
Okay, more Pepto then bed for me. Hope to be back to work tomorrow. Peace out,
Medusa J
