Coffee & blueberry pancakes.....YUM.....on w/ the 10:
1. Chain of Fools - Aretha Franklin from a mixed motown disc I made. Love me some Aretha!
2. Brown Sugar - D'Angelo from a mixed disc I made via Kazaa. This song reminds me of my friend Black Buddha of Y-town!!
3. Rock the Nation - Michael Franti & Spearhead from Stay Human. Fuck yeah, this song says so much about the current state of our nation. The Feds actually kept tabs on this band and investigated them because of their lyrics. Like they were fucking terrorists just because they spoke out about how FUCKED the Bush administration is, hope they're not reading the West Five Two!!!! Silk & Piddy, I'll re-burn this disc for you, it's deep.
4. I Can't Stand The Rain - Ann Peebles from a Soul disc I made to learn funky drum beats.
5. Good People - Jack Johnson from In Between Dreams. I have to agree with Jack on this title/song.
6. More Peas - The JB's from Funky Good Time: The Anthology (Disc 1). This song is definitely a funky good time!!! If you hear this track & you don't move some part of your body, u better go get an ear examination.
7. Fishin' Blues - Taj Mahal from The Essentials (1). "Any fish bites if you got good bait" I enjoy that line.
8. Aquarium - Me'shell Ndegeocello from The Spirit Music Jamia: Dance of the Infidel. This track is jazz/electronica/african-esque all in one, as is most of this album. A good pick from Carnegie West branch.
9. September - Earth, Wind, & Fire from another mixed disc via Kazaa. September is gone already, but I do enjoy bopping around to this track.
10. I Get High On You - Sly & The Family Stone from The Essential (2). This comes ala Silk's collection. A funky band from the 70's, go figure!!
That's it. Now I have to start my day.
