Daylight Savings Random Ten

It's been a while since I've done an R-10, so while I'm sipping my morning cup o' java I thought one was in order. Happy Daylight Savings to all of the fellow Clevelanders that have been enduring the oh so lovely gray days of winter here in the beautiful land of Cleve. I don't know about all of you, but I'm high on UV rays right now!! Oh yes, and for those who don't know, some people are getting together to check out Piddy's role in Hero Tomorrow next Sunday at 11:45am, Tower City, be there. On with the 10......Enjoy!!!

1. Thang - Eddie Bo & The Soul Finders from an Eddie Bo Collection. Contrary to popular belief, James Brown is not the Godfather of soul, he just perfected it. Eddie Bo is the man!

2. Crash And Burn - Sheryl Crow from The Globe Sessions. Too slow, downer song, I'm skipping it.

3. Try/Love Rain Remix - Jill Scott from Who Is Jill Scott (Words & Sounds, Vol. I). Wurd!

4. Who Is He - Bill Withers from Lean On Me, The Best Of. Great track about a cheatin' lady.

5. I Want You To Want Me (Live)- Cheap Trick from a mixed cd I made. Fuck Yeah!!!

6. Speaking Of Tongues - Michael Franti & Spearhead from Stay Human. Everyone should have this album. It's great.

7. Stuck In The Middle - Stealers Wheel from another mixed cd. Reminds me of "Sink or Swim" at Cavanaugh's in West Philly. Shout out to Mel L, Jose, Carolyn, & Soby!!!!!!

8. 1,2,1,2 - Redman & Methodman from Blackout! Another memory of 4221 W. Philly style!

9. Calling All The People - 4 Non-Blondes from Bigger, Better, Faster, More. Don't know why this group never got the props they deserve. This is a great album.

10. Live in 1999 - Erykah Badu & The Roots from a little mix I like to call Summer Break 05. Recorded live New Year's Eve 99, ?Love has a funky ass killer solo on this track.

A sweet R-10 for this Sunday. Some memories were brought back on this one!! Have a great Sunday y'all.

I have to agree with the 4 Non Blondes, Calling All the People. This cd is completely underated. It reminds me of when we were young, living with the rents....I'd pop in the cd and we'd just sing out loud. Good tunes n' good vibes too. Morphine and Chocolate are my substitue!!! Rock on MJ...the soul of music is alive in us. shalom.
