Blizzard Of '07

In case you haven't hurd, there was a blizzard yesterday into today here in the land of Cleve. I donned my snow pants/ski jacket/Tims and set off for work this morning around 6:45am. I walked to the rapid station through more than a foot of snow, at times which was waste deep. I was laughing the whole way, imagining how funny I must look trying to walk in this shit. Luckily, the heat is blazing in the "Eco Village" rapid station so I parked my ass in front of the vent and chatted with some locals. Thirty minutes later the rapid arrived, and I was well on my way.

Upon arriving at the Cedar/University stop, I stood up, ready to disembark the train. To everyone's surprise, the train slid right past the platform and down about 100 yards! The driver had to walk all the way to the back train in order to drive the train back to the platform. All I could do was laugh as the entire car roared in laughter.

After getting off the train, I had to traipse across campus because no shuttles were running. The snow was the pelting/stinging kind, so I walked behind a quite rotund woman to help block the precipitation. It worked well until she decided to slow down and start talking to me as we walked. Damn.

Anyways, I finally made it to work at 8:45am, one of only three people that bothered to come in. Here are a few pics of the dogs enjoying themselves in the snow.

"Hmmmm, I wonder what's back here?"

Where's Cody?

Oh wait, I can see her tail.

"Hey look, here I am!!!!!"

"Shit, how do I get out of here?"

"Guess I'll just plow through."

"That black dog is so stupid. I'm staying right here, where I know my feet are on the ground!"

Reggae Brunch Re-Cap.....

For those of you who missed the par-tay at the View, missed a good time. Salexis and I were in full force, and to our surprise, we found Dr. J in the hizzie!!! I won't use her exact quote for this photo, hell, I'm not even sure if she knew this woman or not.

I do apologize for lack of pics this year, seems that the music overtook my body and I danced most of the time. There were quite a few repeat offenders from last year. Blue sweater dude was there, acting a fool, this time accompanied by his wife. Yes, that's right, his WIFE was actually in attendance. Now that he knows Salexis he felt it was okay to talk to her/us a few times, and he even rubbed my back in a most sensuous way as he shook my hand upon introduction.....creepy. Other offenders included "The Wrecker," "Permed hair guy," and "Kate Hudson look-alike girl." Just to name a few. Now for a shot of the band!

Carlos gave a huge "FUCK BUSH" toward the end of the night, followed by the classic Bob song "Slogans," one of my favorites. I saw that Toots & The Maytals will be at the House of Blues on March 23rd, and I am planning on attending. Any tokers? Uh-I mean takers?

Enjoy,

Ode To Public Transportation

As you all know I have been boycotting the purchase of gasoline since June, so I ride the rapid to work everyday. Much to my dismay I read about Exxon making a $35.5 BILLION profit, which just reinforces the entire public transportation thing for me. I digress. Yesterday I got off the Rapid @ Cedar/University around 8:20AM, and braved the 7 degree heatwave. Into the station I go, when an awful smell about knocks me to the ground. As I'm walking down the steps it's getting nastier and nastier. I look at the bottom of the steps and see that some vile, disgusting, human being took a big nasty shit. I laughed in disgust and ran to get out into the open where I could breath without dry-heaving. Upon finishing my work day around 5:20PM I headed back out into the heatwave, across campus, and to the rapid station. I opened the door, and no smell. I figure someone must have cleaned it up. I round the bend only to find that the shit is now dried and no longer producing a stench so wicked that it burned my nose hairs and trachea. Enjoy this photo folks, enjoy.

Photos

Finally my computer is fixed, thanks to Rahoul, the "escalation" specialist. Nothing more to say about that. I finally got up the energy/motivation to take down my "used to be live" Christmas tree. I know, spare me the lecture, it's freggin' February 1st. What can I say? I was practicing the art of procrastination. It's been undecorated for nearly a month, so technically it was just a tree in my living room. I'm still picking needles out of my skin/hair/carpet. I turned off my front porch light as I hauled it to the curb due to utter embarrassment that I am just now discarding the tree. Oh well, such is the life of Medusa Jones.

So, here we go folks, pictures and stories from the J-Ho/Taj wedding reception and after party. Pictured here is the happy couple and Taj's nephew, who could not stop talking about cutting the cake. I believe he was begging for a knife in this shot.I love me some Indian music. I heard that this was the first time Taj ever danced, you can see him here busting a move. Go Taj!!!
Ah, the O.C. crew reunited, if for only one night. It was great to be with everyone again. I miss you guys like you wouldn't believe!!!
A shout out to the sexy ladies!!!Now for the after party. We took a few of the Indians, in full garb, to the local ABC Tavern over on W25th for some bar bowling. One of the two of these men was hitting on yours truly, and even telephoned my house at 2:34 a.m., I later found out he is married with one kid & another on the way. Tisk Tisk boys. The neurosurgeon lining up his ball. This guy was freggin' HI-LARIOUS, just keep the whiskey coming if you're out with him. I heard he didn't remember much of the evening the next morning. I believe Klassy & Salexis are dancing to a little Bob Marley in this shot via the juke box. A perfect shot to end the post.
